Support Services



Information & Referrals
The Murray-Calloway County Senior Citizens Center is a resource for seniors and their loved ones.  If you have questions about where to get the help you need, when senior events are scheduled, or any other support need or inquiry please contact us!  We do our best to serve the senior population and assist making lives easier, fun, and more fulfilling.


Support Groups
There are several support groups that meet here at the Murray-Calloway County Senior Citizens Center each month: 
The Parkinson's Disease Support Group meets every 2nd Tuesday of each month at
11:00am (eat at 11:30am) for lunch and the meeting at 12:00pm (usually with a speaker) in the Kelleher Room--for more information contact Jan Flynn at (270)753-6845. 
The Alzheimer's & Other Dementia Support Group for Caregivers meets every 1st Thursday of each month from 10:00-11:00am in the Kelleher Room.  This support group is designed with caregivers in mind, but all are welcome!  Gerry Mellon is the facilitator. 
A variety of resource materials on Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias is available upon request.

Kentucky Legal Aid
The Kentucky Legal Aid comes to the Center approximately three times a year from Paducah.  They assist with services including:  wills, living wills, and powers of attorney.  If you need assistance or have a question prior to the date they will be at the Center, you can contact Kentucky Legal Aid in Paducah at (270)442-5518.  The toll free state-wide number is 1(800)467-2218.

SHIP Counseling for Medicare, Including Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D)
If you have questions regarding Medicare please contact the Center!  Our volunteer, Teri Cobb, will make an appointment with you to discuss and assist you with any questions.  Whether you just have questions, you are new to Medicare and need to pick out a plan, or you are wanting to review your current plan during Open Enrollment, we can walk you through the process.  Call the Center and make an appointment!
