Murray-Calloway County
Senior Citizens Center
About:
At the Murray-Calloway County Senior Citizens Center we believe that a person's senior years can be some of the greatest of their life, filled with great activities, friendships, as well as fun and new experiences. It is commonly known that socialization for seniors leads to longer and more satisfying living, and we are here to facilitate that socialization. The MCCSCC is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation which is not affiliated with either the City of Murray or County of Calloway. The Center serves hundreds of seniors daily providing programs and services that afford them the opportunity to live independently.
Our Mission Statement:
"Our mission is to support the mature population in our community to improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being so they can lead independent, fulfilling lives.
Our Philosophy:
"Adding Life to Years and Years to Life"
Our Goals
1. Promote healthy living
2. Improve nutrition
3. Socialization
Our Facility:
Our 10,000 square foot facility is equipped with many great accommodations designed for your enjoyment. This includes a large dining room; a billiards room; a large, fully-equipped workout room; a gymnasium with room for basketball, ping pong, or shuffleboard; a modern, Internet-accessible computer lab (including Wi-Fi); a large, contemporary library; and areas for lounging, relaxing, quilting, and more. If you or your spouse are age sixty or over, you both are welcome to become a part of our community. We would love to be your home away from home. It is easy to begin using our facility--just register with us one time and then you are "good to go." If you would like to know more about our Center or the services we offer, please do not hesitate to contact us, by calling (270)753-0929 or by dropping by. We put out a monthly newsletter which contains our meal menu and all activities scheduled for the month. It usually comes out 3-4 days before the end of each month and you can pick one up at the Center. We are located in the Weaks Community Center, 607 S. Poplar Street, at the corner of Poplar and S. 6th Street, Murray, KY.
